There’s something no one really prepares you for..
The moment you become a mom, and everything you thought defined you begins to shift.
This is my daughter. She’s the one who made me a mama.
And with that.. came one of the most beautiful, disorienting identity shifts of my life.
When Who You Were No Longer Feels Like Enough
I went from being a driven career woman — structured, certain, achieving —
to sitting at my computer… staring at a baby monitor… quietly wondering:
Am I doing this right?
Am I a good mom?
Can I really do both?
I remember the tension so clearly.
Wanting to show up fully in my career.
Wanting to show up fully at home.
I felt like I was constantly being pulled in two directions.
Trying to be everything to everyone…
while quietly questioning if I was enough in either role.
This is the silent experience of so many high-capacity women.
Not failure.
Not ingratitude.
But misalignment.
The Thought That Changed Everything
At one point, someone said something to me that I will never forget:
“If you’re worried about being a bad mom… it means you’re a good one.”
That landed.
Because the truth is:
the women who worry…
the women who care…
the women who question themselves…
Are the ones trying the hardest to get it right.
But effort alone doesn’t create fulfillment.
Alignment does.
The Growth You Experience Raising Kids
As both my daughter and son moved through their phases…
I moved through mine, too.
Not just as a mom, but as a woman.
I became:
And that’s where everything begins to change.
Because eventually, the question shifts from:
“Am I doing enough?” to “Am I living in alignment with who I really am?”
The Moment I Realized I Needed Support
There came a point where I realized something powerful:
I couldn’t think my way into clarity anymore.
No amount of overanalyzing or pushing forward was going to give me the answers I was searching for.
I needed:
…but me.
And that’s when everything began to shift.
How Coaching Reconnected Me to My Truth
Finding a coach didn’t give me a new identity.
It brought me back to my true self.
It gave me the space to:
Because here’s what I came to understand:
It is not enough to simply have goals.
It is essential that the life you are building, the dream you are pursuing, is aligned with your purpose and your core values.
The Truth About Dreams, Goals, and Alignment
Geoffrey Avert said:
“The most important thing about having a goal is having one.”
And while that’s true… there is a deeper layer that most women are never taught:
Not every goal is meant for you.
Not every dream is aligned.
Your mind can generate endless ideas, expectations, and “shoulds,” but your fulfillment will always be found in the dream that is true for you.
Before a dream can become your reality… it must first be in alignment with who you are.
How to Know If Your Dream Is Truly Aligned
If you’re in a season of questioning and wondering what you actually want, these are the questions that matter:
1. Do you feel genuine passion for your dream?
When your dream is aligned, it doesn’t just live in your mind; you feel it in your body.
2. Does your dream align with your core values?
Aligned dreams feel expansive. Not forced.
3. Does your dream require you to grow?
The right dream will stretch you into your next level.
4. Does your dream require support beyond yourself?
Big dreams are not meant to be carried alone.
5. Does your dream create good beyond you?
Aligned dreams ripple outward. They serve more than just you.
Because the truth is: Your deepest desire is not random. It is placed within you for a reason.
The Shift From Pressure to Alignment
This is where so many women get stuck.
They are:
But they are disconnected from themselves. Balance isn’t about doing more. It’s about returning to alignment.
It looks like:
Because you don’t have to choose.
You are allowed to be an incredible mom
and a fulfilled, ambitious woman.
If You’re in This Season Right Now…
If you’re feeling stretched…
questioning yourself…
trying to hold it all together while something still feels off…
Pause here.
You are not lost.
You are being called back to yourself.
“You can be a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time.”
A Final Truth to Hold Onto
You are endowed with the power to choose the dream that is closest to your heart.
And when that dream is aligned with your values, your purpose, and your truth, you don’t have to force it.
You co-create it.
Step by step.
Decision by decision.
In alignment with who you are becoming.
We only get one life.
Why not live it fully, present, aligned, and deeply, genuinely happy?
