Do you hear that? That pesky little voice inside your head telling you that you aren’t good enough, that you can’t do big things, and that you aren’t capable or worthy? Well, that’s exactly what we are going to get rid of with life coaching.
Having a life coach might sound funny – I get it. I thought the same thing at one point. But after hitting a low place in my life, I knew I needed help. I couldn’t self-heal anymore and it would take someone breathing truth over me and asking me the hard questions to get me out of the valley I was in.
The goal with a life coach isn’t to hire someone to tell you what you do, but better yet to have someone ask the hard questions so that you can come up with the answers for yourself. It’s empowering to know you can take those baby steps and accomplish those goals you’ve always had. A life coach is just a baby step in the right direction!
A life coach is someone who has been trained and certified to partner up with you – to inspire you to maximize your personal and professional potential. It’s someone who is your friend, confidant, biggest fan, and mentor all rolled into one.
Fern Gorin is the founder and Director at Life Purpose Institute Incorporated, and she states that “Coaching is about empowering people to come up with their own answers. Someone comes to a life coach to achieve a goal or to change, enhance, or improve some area of their life. Coaching takes the client from where they are to where they want to be.”
A life coach will meet with you either in person or virtually a designated amount of times (maybe once a week, biweekly – whatever works for your schedule and within their packages) to talk with you about your goals. He/she might help you plan accordingly, ask the thought-provoking questions, help you bust through those limiting beliefs, and other exercises.
A life coach can also help you overcome blocks and obstacles. Does any of this sound like you?
These are all signs of blocks and obstacles, which are exactly what a life coach can help you overcome.
The whole point of having a life coach is to give you the motivation and encouragement to get through whatever phase of life you are in. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had an unbiased opinion from someone who wants nothing more than to get you to those dreams and goals you’ve set for yourself?
That’s what a life coach does!
Because sometimes it’s just too hard to do it on your own. The negative thoughts set in and you start losing faith in what you are doing or how you are growing. One person says something questioning what your plans are and suddenly you are thinking maybe you’re wrong and talk yourself out of it.
THIS is exactly why you need a life coach. You need someone to pull you through those hard times and hold you accountable. You need someone qualified to push you to your absolute potential because there’s no reason you can’t achieve what you set your mind to.
There’s a lot of choices out there for life coaches. And like any other field, there are some good…. and some bad.
But, I want you to know that life coaching is a choice I made because:
That last point may sound cheesy to most, but I think it’s the most important one. I know this calling has been put in my heart for a reason.
My WHY behind this is because I want to see women succeed, to get past that voice in their head that tells them they aren’t good enough, to watch them grow, and find bliss in everyday life. As your coach, I would use a compassionate approach that helps you let go of or reduce your inner resistance, which opens the potential for breakthroughs.
If you need someone who has your back, is willing to put in the hard work, and can run beside you in this thing called “life,” then I’d truly be honored to be your teammate.
